TOMS RIVER – Nationally, May is Mental Health Awareness Month and Toms River Regional Schools has joined the efforts to help raise awareness, spread positivity, and reduce the stigmas surrounding mental health issues.
On Fridays throughout the month, if you notice students dressed in green and district employees wearing matching black and green t-shirts, it’s all part of the district’s goal to help raise awareness.
To further support the initiative, the district’s Mental Health Committee compiled a variety of resources that have been shared with schools to offer support and positive messages to their staff, students, and families. The resources will be shared in several ways throughout the month in social media posts, during school announcements, on family activity calendars, and in school newsletters. All of these are meant to promote positive mental health throughout our community.
